SDNY GRAND JURY — MAXWELL INDICTMENT The Southern District of New York grand jury returned a six-count indictment against Ghislaine Maxwell on June 29, 2020. PROCEEDINGS: - Evidence presented regarding Maxwell's role as recruiter and facilitator - Victim testimony before the grand jury - Documentary evidence including travel records and communications - Evidence from previously sealed court documents INDICTMENT COUNTS: 1. Conspiracy to entice minors to travel for illegal sex acts 2. Enticement of a minor to travel for illegal sex acts 3. Conspiracy to transport minors for criminal sexual activity 4. Transportation of a minor for criminal sexual activity 5. Perjury (regarding 2016 deposition) 6. Perjury (regarding 2016 deposition) Maxwell was arrested on July 2, 2020, at a property in Bradford, New Hampshire, where she had been hiding.
