FBI REPORT — MARIA FARMER COMPLAINT Reporting Party: Maria Farmer Agency: FBI, New York Field Office Date: October 1996 BACKGROUND: Maria Farmer, an artist who was employed by Jeffrey Epstein to work at his Manhattan residence, filed a complaint with the FBI in 1996 describing her experiences at Epstein's properties. Her report is considered one of the earliest documented complaints about Epstein and Maxwell. SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM DESCRIPTION: Farmer described an extensive hidden camera and monitoring system at Epstein's Manhattan townhouse: - Banks of closed-circuit TV monitors in a private area of the residence - Cameras appearing to cover multiple rooms including bedrooms - Epstein and Maxwell shown monitoring the feeds - The system appeared designed to record activities in private areas - Farmer observed the monitoring station during her employment ASSAULT ALLEGATIONS: Farmer reported that she was sexually assaulted by both Epstein and Maxwell: - The assault occurred at Les Wexner's Ohio estate where Farmer was working on an art installation - Farmer was unable to leave the gated property - She called her father, who contacted the New York Academy of Art, which contacted the police - A security guard eventually allowed her to leave FBI RESPONSE: Farmer reported that the FBI did not pursue her complaint in 1996: - She provided detailed information about the surveillance system - She identified both Epstein and Maxwell as her assailants - She described the pattern of recruiting young women through art and education - The complaint was not acted upon for over a decade SIGNIFICANCE: Farmer's 1996 report predates all other known complaints about Epstein by nearly a decade. Had the FBI acted on her complaint, the subsequent victimization of dozens of additional minors might have been prevented.
