DOJ EPSTEIN DOCUMENT LIBRARY — DECEMBER 2025 RELEASE

The first batch of documents released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed into law on November 19, 2025.
RELEASE CONTENTS:
- FBI field office reports and investigative summaries
- Internal DOJ memoranda regarding prosecution decisions
- Correspondence between federal agencies
- Victim interview summaries (heavily redacted)
- Evidence inventories from property searches
- Financial transaction records (partially redacted)
REDACTION CONCERNS:
The December release drew immediate criticism for the extent and quality of redactions:
- Key names and dates were obscured throughout
- Some redactions appeared inconsistent across documents
- Victim advocates noted that the redactions were so extensive as to render some documents uninformative
- Lawmakers called for a more transparent approach in subsequent releases
This initial release was followed by the much larger January 30, 2026 release of 3.5 million pages.

The Epstein Case in 2025
In February 2025, the Justice Department released "Epstein Files: Phase 1", including a flight-log exhibit, a redacted contact book and an evidence list, much of it previously public. After a July 2025 DOJ-FBI memo said no further disclosure was warranted, Reps. Ro Khanna and Thomas Massie introduced the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The House passed it 427-1 on November 18, 2025, it became law on November 19, and it required the Justice Department to publish its Epstein records within 30 days; the first production followed on December 19, 2025.
