EPSTEIN FILES TRANSPARENCY ACT
The Epstein Files Transparency Act was enacted to mandate the disclosure of government records related to Jeffrey Epstein.
KEY PROVISIONS:
1. Requires the DOJ to collect and release all records related to Epstein
2. Establishes a dedicated portal (justice.gov/epstein) for public access
3. Sets timelines for progressive disclosure
4. Limits exemptions that can be used to withhold records

SCOPE:
The Act covers records held by:
- Department of Justice (including FBI, DEA, US Marshals)
- Bureau of Prisons
- Courts (to the extent releasable)
- Other federal agencies with relevant records
IMPLEMENTATION:
The DOJ established the Epstein Library portal and has been releasing documents in organized data sets. As of 2025, approximately 3.5 million pages have been processed for release.
