DEPOSITION OF JUAN ALESSI — FORMER HOUSE MANAGER EDWARDS v. EPSTEIN, Case No. 08-80736-CIV (S.D. Fla.) Juan P. Alessi served as the house manager at Jeffrey Epstein's Palm Beach estate located at 358 El Brillo Way from approximately 1990 to 2002. His deposition, taken in 2009 as part of the Edwards v. Epstein civil litigation in the Southern District of Florida, provided critical insider testimony regarding the daily operations of the household and the systematic recruitment of young women to the property. RECRUITMENT AND MASSAGE OPERATIONS: Alessi testified in detail about the regular arrival of young women, many of whom appeared to be minors, at the Palm Beach residence. He described a pattern in which these individuals were brought to the property for so-called massage sessions with Epstein. Alessi stated that he was instructed to prepare the massage room on the second floor, ensuring that supplies including massage oils and towels were readily available. He estimated that young women visited the residence multiple times per week over the course of his employment. ROLE OF GHISLAINE MAXWELL: Alessi's testimony was particularly significant in establishing Ghislaine Maxwell's operational role at the Palm Beach estate. He described Maxwell as the de facto manager of the household who supervised staff, gave direct orders, and was involved in coordinating the visits of young women. Alessi testified that Maxwell instructed him to answer any questions about the young visitors by saying they were there for interviews or personal assistant positions. He also stated that Maxwell maintained a list of phone numbers used to contact prospective visitors. HOUSEHOLD RULES AND SECRECY: Alessi described a strict code of conduct imposed on household staff. Employees were instructed not to look at Epstein directly, not to speak to him unless spoken to, and above all, not to discuss anything they observed at the residence. Alessi testified that staff were required to sign nondisclosure agreements. He stated that the atmosphere within the household was tightly controlled and designed to prevent any disclosure of activities occurring on the premises. This deposition was filed as a discovery exhibit in Edwards v. Epstein and was subsequently cited in multiple related proceedings involving Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Source: Edwards v.
