WITNESS STATEMENT — CHAUNTAE DAVIES Case: Proceedings following Epstein's death Date: August 27, 2019 Delivered at: Victim Allocution Hearing, SDNY STATEMENT SUMMARY: Chauntae Davies was recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell when Davies was working at a hotel spa as a teenager. Maxwell approached her and offered her what appeared to be a legitimate job opportunity. RECRUITMENT: Davies described the recruitment process: - Maxwell approached her at the spa where she worked - She was offered a position as a personal masseuse - The opportunity included travel on private aircraft - The position seemed glamorous and legitimate to a young woman EMPLOYMENT: Davies served as a personal masseuse and flight attendant on Epstein's aircraft: - She traveled extensively on the Boeing 727 and Gulfstream - She was expected to provide massage services to Epstein - The "massage" sessions escalated into sexual abuse - She felt trapped due to financial dependence and isolation PUBLIC STATEMENT (August 27, 2019): At the victim allocution hearing, Davies stated: "Jeffrey Epstein was the most prolific pedophile this country has ever known. He robbed me of my youth, my identity, my innocence, and my self-worth. The ripple effects of his abuse have had a devastating impact on my life."
