Source: Discovery Documents, Giuffre v. Maxwell, No. 15-cv-7433
Email communications between Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell that were produced during discovery in the civil defamation case and later ordered unsealed.
NOTABLE COMMUNICATIONS:
The unsealed emails included exchanges between Epstein and Maxwell after Virginia Giuffre's allegations became public. One widely reported email from Epstein to Maxwell, sent in January 2015, stated:
"You have done nothing wrong and I would urge you to start acting like it."
This email was interpreted by prosecutors and commentators as an attempt by Epstein to coach Maxwell's public response to the allegations. Maxwell's defense team characterized it differently during her criminal trial.
ADDITIONAL CONTENTS:
- Communications regarding media inquiries about the case
- Coordination of legal strategy
- Personal correspondence
- References to specific individuals mentioned in Giuffre's allegations
The emails provided contemporaneous documentation of the relationship between Epstein and Maxwell during the period when the civil case was active.
